Thank you to all of the contributors who have made the mission of the Gerad Meteyer Foundation so successful! Plans are being made for the 3rd Annual Gerad Meteyer Foundation Picnic to take place in 2010. Meanwhile, monetary contributions can be made via PayPal or check. The family is also requesting donations of items suitable for a silent auction to take place at the next picnic. Any item of value, preferably unused, will be accepted. Examples of donations include gift cards for services or goods, autographed memorabilia, unique items, tickets to events, vouchers, automobile goods, outdoor items, recreational equipment, coupons, home goods, etc.

All proceeds from monetary donations, ticket sales, and silent auction profits will solely benefit the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and funds will be earmarked to offset registration expenses for eligible youth wishing to attend Camp Midicha, an ADA camp for children with diabetes. As of 2009, the GMF is now a federally recognized tax-exempt public charity under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code! We are eternally grateful to attorney Fred A. Foley, who donated his time and expertise to help us achieve that important status.
